New York meeting on the CTBT

Pugwash

On 7 May 2019 Pugwash co-organized a meeting with the CTBTO and the Mission of Brazil to the UN on the importance of entry into force of the CTBT as a means to strengthening the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

 

After introductions from Sergio Duarte, President of Pugwash, and Paolo Cotta Ramusino, Secretary General of Pugwash, presentations were made by

  • Guilherme de Aguiar Patriota Representative of Brazil to the Conference on Disarmament
  • Rafael Grossi, Permanent Representative of Argentina to the International Organizations in Vienna
  • Tariq Rauf, former Head of Verification and Security Policy Coordination at the IAEA
  • Sarah Bidgood, Senior Research Associate and Project Manager at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies and a member of the CTBTO Youth Group
