Chemical and Biological Weapons

Through multi- and trans-disciplinary research, education and interactive engagements involving scientific, academic and diplomatic communities, Pugwash aims to reduce the risk of CBW development, proliferation and use, and promote a culture of responsibly among stakeholder communities.

Programme work is steered by the Working Group on CBW, which organises and facilitates regular webinars and workshops and produces research and working papers. The webinars facilitate interdisciplinary and intergenerational dialogues, during which issue experts present and discuss their research findings with participants. The workshops focus primarily on the diplomatic agendas and the official working groups of the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention (BWTC) and Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC).
