On 14-15 November 2014 Pugwash, in association with the Alliance Center for Iranian Studies at the University of Tel Aviv, convened a workshop on the regional situation in the Middle East. The workshop discussed the recent situation in Iraq and Syria, particularly the threat of ISIS (Daesh), the ongoing international efforts to find agreement with Iran over its nuclear programme, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the wake of the Gaza war. The meeting, held at the residence of the Norwegian Ambassador, brought together 20 Israeli and international participants with expertise on the issues.
