Beginning 13 May 2019, Pugwash President Sergio Duarte begun teaching a course on disarmament and non-proliferation for Guatemalan officials, organized and sponsored by OPANAL and held at the Guatemalan ministry of Foreign Affairs. This is the third year he has led such a course of disarmament education, having taught already in Montevideo in 2017 and in La Paz in 2018. It is a one-week activity and is offered by OPANAL to all Latin American and Caribbean States parties of the Treaty of Tlatelolco.
