International Student/Young Pugwash

The International Student/Young Pugwash (ISYP) is a global and interdisciplinary network of students and young professionals concerned with the interface of science, technology, society and ethics. Pugwashites have always placed a high priority on dialogue with students and young professionals – from the beginning when Bertrand Russell asked Joseph Rotblat, the youngest of the Russell-Einstein signatories to chair the press conference where the Manifesto was released.  The Student Pugwash network was formally established in 1979, and its alumni are among some leading thinkers in the field. ISYP is committed to transfer the spirit of Pugwash to future generations. To engage a new generation, ISYP remains, and will continue to remain, infused by the indelible spirit echoed by the Russell-Einstein Manifesto: Remember your humanity, and forget the rest.

Five members of the current Pugwash Council were first engaged through the ISYP network.
