Poul Erik Christiansen is the Programme Director of the Pugwash Conferences in Science and World Affairs, appointed in January 2025. He is the co-author (with Katariina Simonen) of “Dialogue Across Divides: The Pugwash Conferences in the Twenty-First Century” (2025). Previously, he has worked with Pugwash in consultancy and volunteer roles since 2008 and served on the Board of the International Student/Young Pugwash from 2011-2020. He has also worked with the Ottawa Dialogue, a similar “Track Two” organization – both were the case studies for doctoral research, gaining his Ph.D. (Political Science) from the University of Ottawa in 2019. He was the inaugural Raymond Frankel Nuclear Security Policy Fellow at the American Academy of Arts and Sciences from 2020-2022.
