Khaled Shamaa is a former career diplomat who served as Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna, Ambassador to Austria, Mexico and Belize, as negotiator on disarmament, non-proliferation and trans-national threats and as chair of the UN Commission on Drugs. In his 30-year career, he held a variety of portfolios related to multilateral affairs, international security, disarmament, and sustainable development.
