Götz Neuneck is Chair of the Pugwash Council and lead on the Pugwash project Emerging Technologies and Strategic Stability. He is Chair of the Federation of German Scientists (VDW) and until 2019, he was Deputy Director of the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy IFSH at the University of Hamburg and Head of the Interdisciplinary Research Group Arms Control and Disarmament (IFAR²). Trained as a physicist, he is speaker of the Working Group “Physics and Disarmament” of the German Physical Society.
