Katariina Simonen, LL.D. in public international law (University of Turku), is currently a Senior Advisor for Research at the Finnish Ministry of Defence (Defence Policy Dept.) and an Associate Fellow at the Eric Castrèn Institute of International Law and Human Rights (University of Helsinki). Previously, she has held various posts as a lawyer-linguist at the Court of Justice of the European Union, as a revisor at the Legal Service of the European Parliament and as a Research Fellow at the NATO Defence College.
