Katariina Simonen

Simonen KatariinaKatariina Simonen, LL.D. in public international law (University of Turku), is currently a Senior Advisor for Research at the Finnish Ministry of Defence (Defence Policy Dept.) and an Associate Fellow at the Eric Castrèn Institute of International Law and Human Rights (University of Helsinki). Previously, she has held various posts as a lawyer-linguist at the Court of Justice of the European Union, as a revisor at the Legal Service of the European Parliament and as a Research Fellow at the NATO Defence College.

Pugwash provides for a highly valuable network of scientists with whom cooperation on diverse research projects is a highly valuable asset in not only making my argumentation stronger but also in reducing tensions between different parts of the world (my focus: strenghtening the role of international law in international relations, Iran-West -relations).”
